Mark Edward Lewis and Alina Andrei the creators of Omega 1 attended their first sci-fi and comic book convention at the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo February 11th-12th, at their first convention the
creators sold out of the first issue of Omega 1.
Alina Andrei is best known as a actress and stunt woman, she has over 85 credits in Film and TV and has worked on many popular shows such as “Desperate Housewives”, “The Office,” “Dexter, “Flash Forward,” “The Mentalist,” “Prison Break” and “Transformers” to name a few. Now she can add those growing credits to include model and voice of Omega 1 and comic book super-star.
When the doors opened at the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo on February 11th-12, the comic book and sc-fi fans flooded the Irving Convention Center ready to meet their favorite celebrities, artists, andother media guests, among the guests was Co-Creator, Co-Writer and the model and voice of Omega 1 Alina Andrei who was making her first convention appearance along with Co-Creator, Co-Writer Mark Edward Lewis knew how the Omega 1 comic book would sale.
Alina grabbed fans attention immediately as she talked about all things Omega 1, from the comic book to the motion comic; she explained to fans that the comic book character was a extension of herself as she lent her sword fighting skills and athletic abilities to the character. Alina also explained and was very passionate about the character of Omega 1 being a positive role model for teens, she explained that she wanted to show that women can be strong , confident, and heroism in fact she wants to see more women as heroes just not in comics but also in television and movies.
Soon she was signing copies of a special photo variant cover of Omega 1 #1 along with prints, as she talked about the comic; Co-Creator, Co-Writer, Composer, and Director of the Omega 1 motion comic was demonstrating and talking to fans about the Omega 1 motion comic; the two creators were soon talking to crowds of fans about both the comic and motion comic that continued throughout the day.
By 3:30 on Saturday, the first day of the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo, the Omega 1 #1 comic had sold out, in addition Alina’s prints that consisted of head shots and the cover to the Omega 1 photo variant cover, along with Omega 1 t-shirts also sold out on Saturday.
Jeff Hughes owner of Comic Book Divas and publisher for the Omega 1 comic book thought he had ordered a sufficient copies of the comic book.
“As I told both Mark and Alina; that day. It is very rare that a small press comic book not only sells out at a convention but it’s even more rare for a comic book to sell out in a single day”
